Who is Looma Studios?

Hi, I’m Joselyn, or Jossy for short. I’m an enthusiastic lover of animals, plants, and books, and I’m known for bringing a burst of energy into any room.

I founded Looma Studios in 2019 on Etsy, initially offering cash envelopes. At that time, I was deeply focused on saving and budgeting, and I wanted to share that passion with others.

Then COVID-19 struck, and my mental health took a downturn. As a result, my shop went quiet, and I stopped working on it. After a few months, I decided to pivot and began creating plant accessories. For about two years, I received orders here and there, but the business didn’t feel like a true reflection of me. Although I still love plants and have many in my home, it didn’t feel like the right fit for me.

By 2022, I had once again stopped creating products as my mental health reached a new low. I lost my sense of purpose and decided to take a break.

During these challenging times, finding solace in a quiet place with a good book became a vital escape. Immersing myself in another world brought me a sense of peace and comfort.

I’ve always enjoyed creating content and sharing it with others, but I was initially hesitant to share my love for books. It was such a personal and cherished part of my life that I was reluctant to open it up to others.

After spending years focusing on my health, I finally gathered the courage to share my love for books on TikTok. It has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, and the bookish community has been incredibly welcoming and supportive.

Now, I’m excited to relaunch my brand with products that bring me immense joy and happiness. I’m eager to share this joy with all my fellow bookish friends.
